The Hope Blooms inflatable flowerspopped up at Beachwood High School on Thursday morning for a week-long stay before heading to other locations around Northeast Ohio.

Some remained tied to the ground due to strong winds.

The project was developed by Beachwood High marketing students, according to a press release. Every year, students in the school’s marketing/junior achievement group create a program to give students business experience within their community.

The large inflatable flower garden will tour through Beachwood, Mayfield, Chagrin Falls, Cuyahoga Falls, Lakewood and Cleveland from March 12 until April 29. The interactive display will consist of five brightly colored, 20-foot tall inflatable flowers.

The Hope Blooms business was created to battle food insecurity in Northeast Ohio, and to give viewers a sense of optimism during the pandemic — it has a goal of raising $40,000 for the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. Donations can be made at hopebloomsohio.com, where merchandise is also available.

The traveling display will be making the rounds at the following locations:

  • March 18-25: Beachwood High School, 25100 Fairmount Blvd., Beachwood
  • March 25-April 1: Mayfield High School, 6166 Wilson Mills Road, Mayfield
  • April 1-8: Downtown Chagrin Falls, Riverside and Triangle Parks
  • April 8-15: High Bridge Glens Park, 1817 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls
