Program Manager – Northeast Ohio

This position is responsible for the implementation of YEI’s entrepreneurial education programs in Northeast Ohio and is responsible for providing overall leadership and vision for YEI’s Northeast Ohio programming.  

Within Northeast Ohio, the Program Manager oversees the implementation of Young Entrepreneur Pitch Challenge, Lemonade Day NEO and related educator professional development; cultivates, sustains, and manages key organizational partnerships; and supports fundraising for these programs. This position works closely with the Director of Development and other YEI staff to ensure alignment across programs and nurtures connections with other regional organizations in the entrepreneurship education ecosystem.

Principal Position Responsibilities

Program Direction

Manage and support the Young Entrepreneur Pitch Challenge and Lemonade Day programs to achieve YEI mission and grant outcomes. Create and submit data and progress reports. Oversee annual budgets. Manage outside contractors to augment programs as needed.

Program support includes but is not limited to creating program guidelines, budget, and timeline; overseeing registration, educator professional development, and classroom workshops; coordinating marketing and technical support; collecting and analyzing metrics; creating and administering incentive programs and awards.  

Community Building and Partnership Management

Manage relationships with local partners including educators, administrators, educational partners, and current and potential funders to support program growth. Develop and implement a strategy to increase educator participation, as defined by our strategic goals. Design, plan and implement events to support our programs and participation.

University School Programs

Lead US Pitch Cup and US Entrepreneur Cup competitions for high school students at University School. Work with US teachers to develop competition structure and timing, communicate to student body, coach students, connect students with community mentors, announce winners, and assist students before and during competitions. Encourage students to enter regional competitions, provide coaching as needed, and provide assistance to students starting entrepreneurial ventures.

Act as University School’s liaison for the Veale Youth Entrepreneurship Forum programs, required activities, writing grant requests, and grant reporting.

Supervise and coach students as they develop and manage US school-based business opportunities.

Teach class sessions when opportunities arise.

Media and Public Relations

Identify and develop opportunities to promote YEI in various media outlets. Distribute press releases as needed or requested.

Perform additional duties as assigned

Work with YEI team to identify and implement or support new projects and opportunities; provide program and event support to other YEI staff. Participate in the University School staff community to foster good relationships with students, faculty, and administration by attending relevant morning assemblies, faculty professional development opportunities, and school events.

Qualifications 
  • Dynamic, collaborative leader committed to increasing the organization’s service of youth through entrepreneurship programming.
  • Superior communication skills: written and verbal. 
  • Strong ability and experience with building relationships and working with various stakeholders 
  • Entrepreneurial and resourceful, with the initiative to develop and implement plans to strengthen, sustain and grow participation
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, including the ability to manage projects simultaneously and to set priorities in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment 
  • Passion for the work of YEI and excitement about the potential of this position 
  • Ability to work occasional events and Saturdays as needed
